It's The Great Pumpkin!

Brinkley, Joe, and I carved pumpkins tonight. Brinkley became a HUGE fan of the taste of pumpkin!

Pumpkins, Turkeys, and Santa Claus

This weekend I decided I would do some holiday shopping. I've been in and out of several stores looking for some ideas and prices at different places. I have to admit that while in Target today I was completely overwhelmed by all of the wonderful Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas stuff looking me in the face all at once! I couldn't concentrate on what to decorate and get excited for. The Halloween costume aisle was packed with kids trying to decide on a costume while the sales associates kept consolidating the Halloween/Fall decor to an aisle and a half. I love this time of year, but definitely can only focus on one fun holiday at a time! Pretty soon Christmas stuff will stay out year round.

Road Trip On A Whim

Last Wednesday, we decided it would be fun to spend the weekend in San Antonio. Joe had never been and I was dying to get out of Houston for a couple of days. We arranged for Brinkley to spend the weekend with my parents and left for San Antonio very early Saturday morning.
We spent the afternoon at the Alamo and walking around the Riverwalk and Mexican Market before having dinner at Casa Rio's before hitting the Quarry Market north of town. There were so many things about San Antonio that I had forgotten about. I love the culture and the feel of the place. There is something so wonderful about the big city conveniences and small town feel! I really miss it. Sunday morning we decided to head to the outlet malls in San Marcos. My heart almost pounded out of my chest...an Eddie Bauer, Pottery Barn, Williams Sonoma, West Elm, and Restoration Hardware all in one place! It was a great trip and we were really bummed to come back. It was a perfect weekend getaway combined with perfect weather. Who could ask for anything more?

Giving In

I'm finally giving in and creating a blog. I've thought about it several times over the past several months, but felt too boring to have things to blog about. But, I think it will be fun to chronicle the beginning of our married life. I love reading friends' blogs and hope you enjoy ours!
